My father worked hard here from the Phillipines in the 1940s,he had his own business and hotel and builted a block of rental homes and our home here. We were blessed to live in a nice neighborhood here my mom didnt want to live in the Bay area.

My brother and sister aways showed me the the great places to aventure in Stockton. We enjoyed the Country Fair here when we were young and the Fairyland Pixiewoods stii here to enjoy with our kid and Neighbors. We enjoy the Delta with friends jetsking,boating and picnics on the waterways here Stockton has developed a new shopping area north of Stockton off of Elk grove turnoff before Lo di. Sonic,Target,Kholes,many chainstores and more, Safe and plenty of security here. Stockon's has its crime but all citys are not perfect either here. Raise your hand if you enjoy a huge meLting pot of Authentic cuisine readiLy avaiLabLe, a nice reLaxing day @ the park, beautifuL views at the waterfront port of Stockton, & everything is at a fraction of the cost you wouLd normaLLy pay eLsewhere. My experiences here have been nothing short of fun, tasty, and memorabLe! Sure it has its share of sketchy neighborhoods, graffiti fiLLed waLLs, & YES, the crime rate is pretty high but what city doesn't have these issues?? I've been to Stockton for various reasons, but this is the kind of place that you come to visit for a purpose and not just to hang out. My favorite place in Stockton is Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary that offers monthly public tours and other educational events about farmed animals. This is pretty much my only reason to go to Stockton nowadays.

If you live in Sacramento and need to go to San Jose, you have the option of either driving through Walnut Creek on I-680 or going down Highway 99 instead to Stockton. The drive through Walnut Creek is much nicer and so I always take that route instead of through Stockton. I don't know of any stellar places to get vegan eats or good coffee in Stockton either which is why I'm never trying to hang out here unless it's to visit Harvest Home.

As I've stated within previous reviews, it's become proportionately obvious to me.the strategy and/or tactics involved with the naming of most if not ALL of the subpar places within the state of California. But most importantly my three children were born here. My eldest daughter in 1996, my son in 2000 and my baby girl in 2005. They are my very own holy trinity. My children are my life and Stockton, California is our home. So many beautiful memories were made here.

It was about 4 p.m. When something crawled on the carpet. A large insect of unidentified species made its way across the hotel lobby, and a group of European tourists tracked it with a cheerful curiosity until a gray-haired man in a baseball cap waiting to check in stomped on it.

No one else noticed the dead bug. The lobby -- a sensory overload of neon, mirrors, bright lights, televisions, yard-sale furniture and pay phones -- was too distracting. Guests streamed in and out with befuddled stares, mild complaints and curious requests.

In the rooms upstairs, tales of lodging woe unfolded. One guest said his television played the sound from one channel but showed the picture from another.
